DREW LEAGUE

The Drew League was founded in 1973 with the intention of being a safe haven for young men and women of South Central Los Angeles. Initially established with six teams, the goal was to help young people form meaningful relationships on the court that would spill over into the neighborhood and help them develop necessary skills and gain mentorship through the game of basketball. Since its founding, the Drew League has been a remarkable success story that continues to flourish within the South Central community and far beyond. Today, the league matches up 28 invitation-only teams and serves as a second chance platform to bring attention to top local high school, college, and pro players, with the aim to help them gain exposure to opportunities at the professional level.
