LAFC2 Announces 2025 MLS NEXT Pro Regular-Season Schedule

LAFC2 and MLS NEXT Pro today announced the team’s 28-match schedule for the 2025 MLS NEXT Pro regular season. The Black & Gold kicks off its third season with a home opener against Vancouver Whitecaps FC 2 at Cal State Fullerton on Sunday, Mar. 9, at 7 p.m. PT.

Led by Head Coach Junior Gonzalez, LAFC2 will compete in the Pacific Division of the Western Conference. Pacific Division clubs also include Portland Timbers2, Real Monarchs, Tacoma Defiance, The Town FC, Vancouver Whitecaps FC 2, and Ventura County FC.

LAFC2 makes its first road trip of the season on Sunday, Apr. 6, to take on Frontier Division opponent Houston Dynamo 2 at SaberCats Stadium at 4 p.m. PT. The match will be broadcast on MLSNEXTPro.com.

Notable matchups on the schedule include three fixtures against crosstown rivals Ventura County FC. LAFC2 will host the derby on Friday, Mar. 14, at Cal State Fullerton and will play on the road on Friday, May 9, and Sunday, Jul. 20, at California Lutheran University. All three matchups will be available on MLS Season Pass on Apple TV.

The Black & Gold will take on 2024 MLS NEXT Pro champions North Texas SC away on Sunday, Aug. 24, at Choctaw Stadium and at home on Sunday, Oct. 5, at Cal State Fullerton. Both matches will be available on MLS Season Pass on Apple TV.

The complete MLS NEXT Pro 2025 schedule is available on **MLSNEXTPro.com** and consists of 29 teams and 406 regular-season matches. Each club will play 28 matches over 30 weeks, including 14 matches at home and 14 on the road. Clubs will face each divisional opponent a maximum of three times, plus other intraconference rivals to round out the schedule.

The majority of regular-season matches, plus all Decision Day matches, playoff matches and MLS NEXT Pro Cup, will be available to watch live and on-demand on MLS Season Pass on Apple TV. Available in more than 100 countries and regions, MLS Season Pass can be viewed on billions of devices through the Apple TV app on Apple devices, smart TVs, streaming devices, set-top boxes, game consoles, and online at tv.apple.com. DECISION DAY

Twenty-eight of the league’s 29 clubs will compete on the final day of the regular season, Sunday, Oct. 5. Fourteen matches will take place to determine final playoff positioning, with eight teams in each conference qualifying for the 2025 MLS NEXT Pro Playoffs. Eastern Conference matches will kick off at 1 p.m. ET, followed by the Western Conference at 4 p.m. ET. All Decision Day matches will air live on MLS Season Pass on Apple TV.

PICK-YOUR-OPPONENT RETURNS

The 2025 MLS NEXT Pro Playoffs will feature 15 single elimination matches over the course of four consecutive weekends, with three rounds beginning the weekend of Oct. 17 and culminating with MLS NEXT Pro Cup the weekend of Nov. 7. Matchups during the first two rounds of the Playoffs will be determined through the Pick-Your-Opponent format that has garnered much acclaim since its inception in 2023. This season will mark the third straight year the unique process has been utilized by MLS NEXT Pro.
