Following a 4-3 loss to Sporting Kansas City II on the final day of the MLS NEXT Pro regular season, LAFC2 next faces St. Louis CITY2 in the Western Conference Quarterfinal on Sunday, October 20, at CITYPARK.
The Black & Gold wrapped up its 2024 MLS NEXT Pro season as the fifth seed in the Western Conference with a record of 12W-10L-6D (45 points from 28 matches). In the 2024 MLS NEXT Pro Pick-Your-Opponent selection show, CITY2 selected LAFC2 as its first-round opponent.
Historically, LAFC2 is 0W-2L-1D against CITY2. Their only meeting in 2024 took place in July, resulting in a 4-3 defeat for the Black & Gold at CITYPARK.
Luis Müller leads LAFC2’s offensive attack with nine goals and two assists over 17 matches, while Javier Hernandez has contributed six goals in 16 appearances.

Coached by Bobby Murphy, CITY2 enters the postseason eager to bounce back from last year’s first-round exit. The club secured the second seed in the Western Conference, finishing the 2024 season with a record of 17W-7L-4D.
