LAFC2 defeated Real Monarchs in a 3-2 thriller Sunday evening at Zions Bank Stadium.
Real Monarchs defender Tommy Silva put the home side up 1-0 in the 10th minute. LAFC2 attackers Leonardo Flores (21st minute) and Adrian Wibowo (23rd minute) gave the Black & Gold the lead with two goals in two minutes before Monarchs midfielder Beni Redzic leveled the match in 40th minute.
Midfielder Matt Evans scored the goal-ahead goal in the 58th minute to help the Black & Gold seal its first away win of the 2024 MLS NEXT Pro season.
LAFC2 improves to 5W-1L-1D (17 points), and next takes on the Vancouver Whitecaps FC 2 at Titan Stadium on Sunday, May 12. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. PT.
