LAFC2 fell to Sporting Kansas City II, losing 4-3 on Sunday afternoon at Children's Mercy Victory Field in both teams’ MLS NEXT Pro regular-season finale.

Medgy Alexandre put the home team ahead in the 10th minute, but LAFC2 quickly equalized just a minute later with a goal from Javier Hernandez. Hernandez then scored twice more, finding the net in the 30th and 50th minutes, recording his first-ever hat trick in MLS NEXT Pro.

Sporting KC II responded with three unanswered goals, with Ethan Bryant scoring twice (in the 57th and 72nd minutes) and Sebastian Cruz netting one in the 65th minute, securing its comeback victory.

LAFC2 concludes the regular season with a 12W-10L-6D record, a fifth-place finish in the Western Conference, and a spot in the MLS NEXT Pro playoffs.

The Black & Gold now awaits its first playoff opponent, with the MLS NEXT Pro Pick-Your-Opponent selection taking place on Tuesday, October 8, at 12:00 p.m. PT. The event will be streamed on MLSNEXTPro.com and across the league’s X and Instagram channels.
