LAFC2 was defeated 4-3 by Vancouver Whitecaps FC 2 on Sunday afternoon at Titan Stadium in Fullerton, CA.
Whitecaps FC 2 forward Cyprian Kachwele opened the scoring in the second minute before both clubs exchanged three goals in 15 minutes. Tomás Ángel scored a double in that span for LAFC2 (in the 15th and 30th minute), and Whitecaps FC 2 attacker Mihail Gherasimencov scored on a penalty in the 21st minute.
The Black & Gold took a 3-2 lead in the 71st minute off a Leo Flores penalty before Whitecaps FC 2 scored in the 79th and 90th minutes to seal the win.
LAFC2 drops to 5W-2L-1D (17 points) in its 2024 MLS NEXT Pro campaign, and in its next match takes on The Town FC at Saint Mary's College in Moraga, CA, on Sunday, May 19. Kickoff is set for 5:00 p.m. PT.
