LAFC2 and the Tacoma Defiance clashed on Saturday afternoon in a thrilling 4-4 draw at Lumen Field.
Tamir Ratoviz put the Black & Gold ahead with his second goal of the season in the 26th minute. However, Tacoma quickly responded with goals from Dylan Teves (33rd minute) and Georgi Minoungou (36th minute).
Despite going down to 10 men following Christian Díaz's red card in the 39th minute, LAFC2 rallied to regain the lead. Eddy Berumen (45th+2 minute), Adrian Wibowo (49th minute), and Christopher Jaime (65th minute) scored unanswered goals to put LAFC2 up 4-2.
Seattle fought back in dramatic fashion, equalizing through Raul Miglietti (68th minute) and Elias Katsaros (90th+3 minute).
Following the full-time whistle, LAFC2 secured a 5-4 victory in the penalty shootout, earning an additional point as per MLS NEXT Pro rules.
LAFC2 improves to 8W-5L-4D (30 points), and next travels takes on the Houston Dynamo 2 at SaberCats Stadium on Sunday, July 28. Kickoff is set for 5 p.m. PT.
