Lee Nguyen was acquired from the New England Revolution moments before the window closed. The US international has been with the Revolution since 2012. Here are '5 Things To Know' about Nguyen:
Texas To Indiana To Europe
Born in McKinney, Texas, Nguyen played one season at the University of Indiana, earning first team All-Big Ten honors, the Big Ten Freshman of the Year award and was selected the 2005 Freshman of the Year by Soccer America.
After his one season with the Hoosiers, Nguyen signed with Dutch powerhouse PSV Eindhoven in 2006. The midfielder spent just three seasons in Holland winning two Eredivisie titles with the club. He moved to Randers FC of the Danish Superliga in 2008. Nguyen made 23 appearances over the course of two seasons for the Danish club.
Trailblazer
Nguyen joined Vietnamese side Hoàng Anh Gia Lai in 2009. He became the first American player to appear in the Vietnamese league. In his first season, the midfielder finished with 13 goals and 16 assits.
Lee The Creator
Nguyen had a career-high 15 assists in 2017 with the Revolution. He has had double-digit assists in each of his last three season in MLS.
Lee The Scorer
Nguyen netted 51 goals over four seasons with New England. His 18 goals in 2014 were a career-high for the midfielder and powered him to third in the MLS MVP voting that season.
Since 2014, Nguyen ranks fifth in MLS in combined goals and assists with 82.
Driving Force
In New England's 2014 run to MLS Cup, Nguyen registered 18 goals and fives assists during the 32 regular-season matches. In five playoff appearances that season, the midfielder added another two goals and three assists in five playoff matches.
