Harvey Reaches Career-Minutes Milestone

Jordan Harvey Against Galaxy 7/26/18 IMG

Jordan Harvey reached a career milestone on Sunday against Sporting KC. And it only took two minutes.

Harvey surpassed 25,000 minutes played in his MLS career, becoming the 38th player in league history to reach the milestone. The LAFC defender is one of only eight players currently active to reach the 25,000-minute mark.

The career milestone flew under the radar on Sunday with all the attention reserved for the top of the conference clash between LAFC and SKC on the season's final day. The soft-spoken and thoughtful Harvey would likely have no qualms with the attention being elsewhere. In his 14-year career, the defender has been known for his consistent, workmanlike play down the left side of pitches across MLS.

A SoCal native, Harvey signed with LAFC as a free agent before the start of the Club's inaugural season. Beginning the season as a reserve for the Black & Gold, the veteran eventually made the starting left back spot his own. His stellar play for LAFC in 2018 has seen him start eight of the team's 10 shutouts in the regular season.

In addition to reaching 25,000 minutes played for his career, Harvey has surpassed the 2,000-minute mark in a season for the sixth year in a row - 2018 is the eighth season overall the defender has played 2,000 or more minutes. Harvey is also just one regular-season appearance shy of 300 for his career.
