Five players from the LAFC squad were away on international duty this week.
While Christian Ramirez wasn't in the U.S. Men's National Team squad that defeated Ecuador 1-0 on Thursday, four of his teammates saw time with their national teams - there's a good chance Ramirez will suit up and play when the USMNT take on Chile on Tuesday in Houston. Here's a look at how they fared with their respective teams:
Josh Pérez - US U-23
After joining up with Jason Kreis' team in Spain, Pérez came on in the second half of a 2-0 loss to Egypt in the first of two friendlies for the U-23s. The LAFC attacker replaced Emmanuel Sabbi on the right side of an attacking trio but was unable to affect the result, as Egypt scored in each half to secure a victory. Pérez was not named to the squad that tied the Netherlands 0-0 on Sunday.
Peter-Lee Vassell - Jamaica
Vassell started and played 79 minutes of Jamaica's 2-0 loss to El Salvador in Nations League Qualifying on Saturday. The LAFC rookie played on the right side of the attack for the Reggae Boyz, who were undone by a 49th minute goal from Nelson Bonilla and an own goal in the 85th minute. Vassell had one shot off target in the match.
Mohamed El-Munir - Libya
Libya missed a chance to qualify for the Africa Cup of Nations after falling to South Africa 2-1. South Africa needed just a draw to qualify but Libya had a chance to seal their own qualification with a victory. El-Munir started the match in defense and went the full 90 minutes.
Mark-Anthony Kaye - Canada
Kaye started in an unfamiliar role for LAFC fans. Usually a midfielder in Bob Bradley's team, Kaye was fielded at left back for Canada against French Guiana in a 4-1 victory in Concacaf Nations League qualifying. Kaye showed his versatility by going all 90 minutes and contributing an assist on Canada's fourth goal, his first with the senior national team. The win secures Canada's place in the Gold Cup beginning in June.
