The Los Angeles Football Club announced today that Marco Ureña will undergo surgery on Friday to repair facial fractures. Ureña will be re-evaluated in four weeks.
Ureña suffered the injury following a collision in the first half of the Club’s 1-0 win over the Seattle Sounders FC on Sunday evening in the Inaugural match at Banc of California Stadium.
The Costa Rican international has started all seven games this season and leads MLS with five assists in 611 minutes. LAFC (5-2-0; 15 points) returns to action on Saturday, May 5 (1:00 p.m. PT, Univision/ESPN LA 710 AM/ 980 AM) against FC Dallas in the second of a four-game home stand.
