The Los Angeles Football Club (LAFC) announced today that defender Tristan Blackmon has been loaned to Phoenix Rising FC of the United Soccer League (USL). Per the Right of Recall incorporated in the loan agreement, LAFC retains the right to recall Blackmon at any point during the remainder of the MLS regular season, subject to MLS roster compliance guidelines.
In his first professional campaign, Blackmon has appeared in nine regular season contests (five starts), logging 488 minutes for the Black & Gold. The 22-year-old defender also went the distance in the Club’s 2-0 win over Fresno FC in the Fourth Round of the 2018 U.S. Open Cup.
Blackmon was initially selected by LAFC with the third overall selection in the 2018 MLS SuperDraft out of the University of the Pacific. He saw action in 70 matches (68 starts), tallying 16 goals and nine assists.
