With the No. 24 pick of the MLS SuperDraft, LAFC selected midfielder Pol Calvet Planellas from the University of Pittsburgh.
A native of Spain, Planellas spent time in the prestigious Barcelona Academy 'La Masia' and played for Barcelona B before joining the Panthers.

Planellas played just one season at Pittsburgh after arriving from Spain, earning third team All-Atlantic Coast Conference honors in 2017. He was the first player from the University of Pittsburgh to be invited to the adidas MLS Player Combine. Last season, he finished with one goal and four assists for the Panthers.
