Los Angeles Football Club (LAFC) fell 1-0 to FC Dallas at Toyota Stadium in Frisco, Texas, on Saturday night after Osaze Urhoghide scored a first-half goal for the hosts and the Black & Gold had a second-half equalizer controversially ruled out.
A cagey, scoreless first half tilted toward Dallas when the hosts won a corner that Joaquín Valiente swung into the center of the LAFC box for Urhoghide to head home in the 34th minute.
Black & Gold goalkeeper Hugo Lloris continued his terrific form, making a handful of important saves and interventions as LAFC built into the game offensively.
LAFC forward Armindo Sieb looked to have scored the equalizer in the 73rd minute but had his goal called back after referee Sergii Boiko, relying on the advice of VAR Younes Marrakchi, adjudged Sieb to have interfered with Dallas goalkeeper Jonathan Sirois in the lead-up.
The Black & Gold nearly secured another equalizer in the waning moments of regulation when a Sergi Palencia bicycle kick was saved by Sirois, preserving the 1-0 win for Dallas.
LAFC has a bye week next weekend before returning to action on Saturday, Oct. 10, when the team hosts the Vancouver Whitecaps at BMO Stadium for Noche LÁFC, presented by Ford. Kickoff from the heart of Los Angeles is set for 7:30 p.m. PT, and the match will be broadcast on Apple TV, as well as Coupang Play and SPOTV for fans in Korea. Local radio coverage will be available on 710 AM ESPN, the ESPN LA app, KYPA 1230 AM (Korean), and 980 AM La Mera Mera (Spanish), with national coverage on SiriusXM FC 157, SiriusXM 95, and Sirius Soccer en Español 1999.

- With the result, LAFC is now 11W-9L-8D for 41 points this season and 17-10-12 in all competitions, having gone 5-1-2 in the Concacaf Champions Cup and 1-0-2 in Leagues Cup.
- All-time, LAFC is now 8-5-3 against FC Dallas in MLS regular-season play.
- Due to international call-ups, LAFC was without six regular players: Denis Bouanga (Gabon), Mathieu Choinière (Canada), Son Heung-Min (Korea), Jacob Shaffelburg (Canada), Jude Terry (USA U-19s), and Leo Walta (Finland).
- Regular LAFC captain Aaron Long was suspended due to receiving a red card in the team’s previous match, while midfielder Timothy Tillman remains out due to injury.
- New LAFC midfield signing Sergio Vásquez made his debut for the club, coming on at halftime for defender Nkosi Tafari.
- Forward Marius Aiyenero, who was signed on a short-term loan from LAFC2 ahead of the match, made his first-team debut for the club, entering the match for Jeremy Ebobisse in the 86th minute.
