LAFC saw its five-game unbeaten streak come to an end Saturday afternoon, falling to the San Jose Earthquakes 3-1 at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, CA. The Black & Gold are now 4-4-3 (W-L-T) with 15 points on the season.
LAFC fell behind early as Rodrigues gave San Jose a 1-0 lead in the fifth minute. The Earthquakes would add to their lead in the second half behind goals by Amahl Pellegrino (55th minute) and a Denis Bouanga own goal.
Cristian Olivera got LAFC on the board in the 69th minute with a goal off an assist from Kei Kamara. It was Kamara’s first goal contribution since joining the club on March 29.
LAFC is back in action on Wednesday, May 8 when the Black & Gold begin their 2024 U.S. Open Cup campaign in the Round of 32 against the Las Vegas Lights on the road at Cashman Field at 7:30 p.m. PT.
