In LAFC terms, today is the start of 2019.
Monday marks the start of preseason training for the Black & Gold. A year after opening camp in the then unfamiliar surroundings of UCLA, LAFC will take to the pitch at its own Performance Center for this year's preseason camp.
While there are a lot of familiar faces here - LAFC returns 18 players from its record-setting squad of 2018 - a group of 11 players including draftees has also arrived for preseason camp. It's important to note though that like the draftees, those invited to camp will be competing for a spot on the roster before the start of the MLS season.
Below is the full list of LAFC training camp invitees (previous club in parentheses):
- F Ricky Lopez-Espin (Real Salt Lake)
- M Peter-Lee Vassell (Harbour View)
- M Javier Pérez (Univ. of Pittsburgh)
- M Kevin Mendoza (Liberty University)
- D Lamar Batista (Portland Timbers 2)
- M Alejandro Guido (Club Tijuana)
- G Wade Hamilton (Galaxy II)
- M Conor O'Brien (Charlotte Independence)
- F Adrien Perez (Ontario Fury)
- M Baggio Husidic (Galaxy)
