After opening the 2025 MLS NEXT Pro season with a 3-3 draw against Vancouver Whitecaps 2 on Sunday, LAFC2 next faces rival Ventura County FC on Friday, March 14, at Titan Stadium in Fullerton, CA.
Friday’s matchup will feature the return of two former LAFC2 players, Luis Müller and Tommy Musto, who are now with VCFC. Müller played 17 games for the Black & Gold in MLS NEXT Pro, scoring nine goals and adding two assists, while Musto made 21 appearances, contributing three assists.
LAFC2 boasts a 4W-1L-1D against its rival. The Black & Gold’s only loss to VCFC came in their first-ever match up in 2023, a 4-3 loss.
THE VISITORS
After being eliminated from the 2024 MLS NEXT Pro playoffs by the Tacoma Defiance in a 4-0 shutout, VCFC started 2025 with a 3-2 victory over Tacoma last Friday.
Luis Müller scored his first goal of the season, while Dylan Vanney, son of Galaxy head coach Greg Vanney, earned a brace.
