The first weather delay in Banc of California history did little to slow down LAFC's race towards the top of the Western Conference table on Friday. After a nearly two-hour weather delay, LAFC ran over the Houston Dynamo by a 4-2 scoreline. On Monday, MLS recognized the Black & Gold's efforts, naming five members of LAFC to its Team of the Week for Week 33.
Carlos Vela leads the way for LAFC this week. Factoring into all four LAFC goals on Friday, the Mexican international scored twice including a tantalizing chip 11 minutes from full time.
Joining Vela in the team, Danilo Silva makes his first appearance on an MLS Team of the Week starting 11. Silva had numerous defensive stops and sent a pinpoint diagonal ball that led to LAFC's second of the night.
Walker Zimmerman and Adama Diomande round out the LAFC players on this week's team. Each had a goal in the victory on Friday and were named as substitutes. While head coach Bob Bradley joined them on the Team of the Week bench.
