It was a solid LAN debut for SavvyPanda... to say the least.
SavvyPanda traveled to Austin, Texas, to take part in the Last Chance Qualifiers in advance of the 2022 eMLS Cup presented by Coca-Cola. After a disappointing League Series 1 and 2 which saw him knocked out of the automatic qualification for eMLS Cup, he was placed in a group with JMendez17 (ORL), Adrian (SEA), and Ntartaglia01 (CLB) for the Last Chance Qualifiers.
Panda went 3-1-2, beating each of his opponents once. SavvyPanda's only loss came at the hands of JMendez17 in their first matchup of the day where he was blanked 0-3.
Finishing second in the group meant moving on to the bracket round, where he was matched up against local rival GODFATHER (GAL). SavvyPanda smashed the Galaxy 4-0 and moved on to the semifinals, where he faced Smatias17 (PHI) and won 2-0.
Keeping the momentum going into the final match of the Last Chance Qualifiers against Adamou__99 (HOU), Panda went up 2-0 by the 39th minute and was tasked with holding on for the rest of the game. Adamou pulled one back, but it wasn't enough as LAFC's eMLS player came out on top.
By winning the Last Chance Qualifiers mini-tournament on Day 1, SavvyPanda earned the last spot in the eMLS Cup on Day 2. His first match of the day will take place Sunday, March 12, at 12:20pm PT and will be against PauloNeto999 (ATL). The matchup will be streamed live on MLS Twitch.
