LAFC announced today that the club and LAFC Academy Director Todd Saldaña have parted ways.
“I want to thank Todd for all of his great work in establishing the LAFC Academy,” LAFC Co-President & General Manager John Thorrington said. “In short order, Todd helped us build a nationally and internationally recognized Academy that has provided many professional, national team and collegiate opportunities for players from Southern California. Todd was instrumental in establishing a foundation for our Academy that we will continue to build on, and we are grateful for his service to the club.”
A Southern California native, Saldaña joined LAFC as the first Academy Director in club history in 2016 and had a lead role in overseeing the technical and developmental aspects of all LAFC Academy players and staff.
“I am extremely proud to have played a role in building this club,” Saldaña said. "In the academy we are in the business of helping young, top-talents realize their dreams and to create sustainable, next-level opportunities for all involved. I am very proud of the volume of that success. I would like to thank all of the players and families who believed in and supported our project.”
