Two more LAFC players were in action during the international break as Mark-Anthony Kaye and Dejan Jakovic started in Canada's 1-0 friendly win against New Zealand.
Jakovic wore the captain's armband for Canada taking his position at the heart of the defense, while Kaye featured in the center of midfield for new head coach John Herdman.
Despite dominating possession for long spells in the first 45 minutes, Herdman's team were unable to find a breakthrough until the second half. Jakovic's simple ball over the top picked out the run of Tosaint Ricketts down the gut of the New Zealand defense. Taking his shot on the half volley, Ricketts smashed home from close range in the 54th minute to seal the victory for Canada.
