LAFC was awarded franchise rights by Major League Soccer in October 2014. The successful ten years that have unfolded since then include the construction of the club's own stadium, the signing of eventual MLS MVP Carlos Vela, and the winning of four major trophies: the 2022 MLS Cup, the 2019 and 2022 Supporters' Shields as well as this season's Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup.
Eduard Atuesta, who along with Vela was part of the club’s original roster, said of the anniversary occasion, “I can speak from what I feel and from my experience from the beginning. A lot of the fans, I've seen them for many years, since those first training sessions in LA. Since the first game at home. I can still picture it today. They know who we are, those of us who have been here from the beginning. They know how much we value the club, how much we love the club and how much it hurts us when difficult things happen, how much we are happy for the good things that happen too.”
This Saturday will be one of the good things. LAFC will celebrate a special Fan Appreciation Night by marking its first 10 Years of History during its home match against San Jose on Saturday, October 19 (6 p.m PT kickoff) with discounts on concessions and merch, in-stadium tifos, a U.S. Open Cup trophy celebration, and much more!

LAFC HQ, located inside BMO Stadium, will be stocked with all your favorite LAFC swag plus limited quantities of U.S. Open Cup Champions gear and a special-edition Día de Los Muertos shirt.
