LAFC announced today that the Club has mutually agreed to part ways with forward Adama Diomande due to personal considerations.
“We believe that being an LAFC player is about more than just what happens on the field,” EVP of Soccer Operations and General Manager John Thorrington said. “Dio made us aware of a personal situation he is dealing with, and together we were able to work out a solution for both parties. We wish him all the best and are thankful for everything he helped us accomplish in Los Angeles.”
Since joining LAFC during 2018’s international summer transfer window from Hull City, Diomande recorded 20 goals and 11 assists in 44 regular season matches, making 29 starts. An instrumental piece of the Club’s 2019 Supporter Shield winning squad, the Norwegian international was a five-time MLS Team of the Week honoree, one-time MLS Player of the Week, one-time MLS Player of the Month and scored the first hat-trick in Club history on June 30, 2018.
LAFC returns to regular season play on Saturday, August 22 versus the LA Galaxy. Kickoff at Banc of California Stadium is scheduled for 3:00 p.m. PT and will be broadcast live on FOX, ESPN 710am, KFWB 980am.
