LAFC announced today that the Club has loaned forward Mario González to Sporting de Gijón of Spain’s LaLiga 2. The initial loan period begins immediately and runs through June 2024 with an option to purchase.
González, 27, joined LAFC on July 22, 2023, from Portuguese side Sporting Clube de Braga, making his LAFC debut during the Leagues Cup quarterfinal match vs. Club Monterrey on Aug. 12 at the Rose Bowl Stadium. Overall, González made 12 appearances (seven starts) across all competitions and registered one goal and two assists, helping the Club capture its second-consecutive Western Conference title.
