The Federación Mexicana de Fútbol (FMF) and Soccer United Marketing (SUM) today announced that the Mexican National Team will battle Nigeria on Saturday, July 3 at 7:30 p.m. PT, at the historic Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum (LA Coliseum). This will be the fourth date of the 2021 MexTour this summer, joining Dallas, Atlanta, and Nashville on tour ahead of the region’s top national team competition, the Concacaf Gold Cup, which begins July 10. The Los Angeles match is being staged in partnership with Major League Soccer’s Los Angeles Football Club (LAFC).

Mexico last visited the LA Coliseum on May 27, 2017 in a game against Croatia.

African powerhouse Nigeria has qualified for six of the last seven FIFA World Cups. In five all-time games against Mexico, the “Super Eagles” have tied four and lost once. The two teams last met in Atlanta in 2014, playing to a 0-0 draw.
