LAFC is home at Banc of California Stadium on Sunday to face the New York Red Bulls in a afternoon match-up as the Black & Gold celebrates Pride Month. The two clubs played in a preseason exhibition match in February that LAFC won 6-1, but a lot has changed since then. This is only the third match-up all-time between the team, with the home team winning both previous encounters.Â
The Red Bulls sit second in the Eastern Conference and are coming off a huge win this week in the U.S. Open Cup Quarterfinals over the defending MLS Cup Champion NYCFC.Â
LAFC is looking to get back on the winning track after playing the Seattle Sounders to a 1-1 draw last weekend in Seattle, which Chicho Arnago pulling back the tie with a 79th minute equalizer.

LAFC WILL WIN IF
They can play through the fast-paced pressure that Red Bull famously brings to the table. Finally with a mostly healthy roster again, LAFC can find success if they are able to maintain control of the ball high up the field. The Black & Gold will need to be strong in transition and take advantage of their scoring opportunities against a dangerous Red Bulls squad.
NEW YORK CAN WIN IF
They are effective with their high-press and are able to challenge LAFC on the ball throughout the field. The Red Bulls will aim to frustrate the opposition by gaining possession back quickly with one-two touch passes close to goal. New York likes to attack, and they like to do it fast.
