Four days after snapping a six-game winless streak across all competitions, LAFC hosts Seattle Sounders FC on Wednesday, June 21 at BMO Stadium.
A 90th-minute goal from Carlos Vela helped LAFC defeat SKC 2-1 on June 17, placing the defending league champs in a two-way tie with St. Louis City SC atop the Western Conference standings. The club also made history by becoming the fastest club in MLS history to reach 300 total points.
LAFC faces Seattle Sounders for the second time this season after playing to a scoreless draw on March 18 at Lumen Field.
The Sounders have won just two of their last 10 matches (2-5-3 over that span) and are coming off back-to-back draws against Charlotte and Portland in MLS play.

SOUNDERS IN-DEPTH
The Sounders got off to a strong start in 2023 after missing the playoffs for the first time in club history. Seattle currently sits in third place in the Western Conference with 28 points through 18 matches played.
The team is led by captain Nicolás Lodeiro, who has scored once and tallied five assists in 17 MLS appearances this season.
Forwards Jordan Morris (nine goals) and Raúl RuidÃaz (four) have combined to score 13 of the teams 23 goals in 2023. Seattle will be without Morris and Cristian Roldan, who are both with the U.S. National Team at the Concacaf Gold Cup. Seattle could also be without Xavier Arreaga, who is on national team duty with Ecuador and Alex Roldan, playing with El Salvador.
LAFC WILL WIN IF
it finishes its goal scoring opportunities. Prior to Saturday’s two-goal performance in Kansas City, the club had scored just one goal in its previous six matches across all competitions. The Black & Gold will need production from captain Carlos Vela and the array of young attackers who surround him. The team’s top scorer this season, Dénis Bouanga, will be available for the first time since June 10, when he left for international duty.
SOUNDERS CAN WIN IF
RuidÃaz is allowed to have his way on the field. The Sounders—traditionally a difficult opponent for LAFC—will look to take valuable points on the road from a side that is still managing fatigue and injuries during a challenging June schedule.
