LAFC announced today the signing of midfielder Alejandro Guido from Club Tijuana of Liga MX. Guido will be added to LAFC’s roster pending receipt of his International Transfer Certificate (ITC).

“Alejandro has all the attributes to succeed in this league and we believe he will have an immediate impact,” said General Manager and EVP of Soccer Operations John Thorrington. “His qualities will prove to be a good fit with what we’re trying to implement this year and we look forward to his contributions over the course of the campaign.”

Guido, 24, joins LAFC after spending the first seven years of his professional career with Mexican side Club Tijuana. Last year, Guido helped Los Xolos reached the playoffs after appearing in 11 league contests. In all, Guido tallied two goals in 56 appearances across all competitions for Tijuana.

Internationally, Guido has represented the U.S. team at the U-17, U-18, U-20 and U-23 levels, scoring four goals in over 50 games played, including four appearances at the 2011 FIFA World Cup in Mexico. Last year, Guido earned his first senior team call-up during the USMNT’s camp in Philadelphia in May 2018.
