The LAFC Academy starts its defense of the first silverware in Club history on Thursday.
LAFC joins fellow academy sides from across the globe in San Diego for the Nexen Manchester City Cup. Academy invited to the tournament include the likes of Atlanta United, Melbourne City FC of Australian, Chivas of Guadalajara, and of course the tournament's hosts Manchester City.
Four age groups from the LAFC Academy will compete in the tournament held May 23-27. The cup holders 2005 LAFC Academy side will begin the defense of their trophy on May 23 at 10:15am PT against Melbourne City FC and follow up the opening match with a clash against Chivas of Guadalajara on May 24 at 10:15am PT. The match against Chivas will be televised on Univision Deportes and streamed on ESPN+.
