The LAFC Academy wrapped up the month of May with a new trophy for its cabinet. With the season coming to a close, let's take a look at what's been going on with the younger generation of Black & Gold players:
Nexen Manchester City Cup
The LAFC Academy traveled to San Diego for the Nexen Manchester City Cup over the holiday weekend. The U12, U13, and U14 teams competed against some of the best MLS academy sides, as well as a few international sides, the likes of Xolos Tijuana and Club América from Mexico and Arsenal and Manchester City from England.
It was a successful weekend for all levels of the Academy at the tournament. The U12s and U14s both reached a final in their respective groups, while the U13s collected silverware with a victory over LAUFA in the 2005 Super Group final.
Galaxy Rematch
On Sunday, the LAFC Academy hosts its Galaxy counterparts at Cal State LA. All age groups will be in action for the Academy:
U12 match at 10am (2 matches)
U13 match at 12p
U14 match at 2pm
The matches are open to the public, and Supporters are encouraged to attend.
Parking is available in CSULA Parking Structure B and matches will take place on the Jesse Owens Stadium field.
