LAFC and Gamers.vote today announced plans to host a virtual Celebrity Showcase event aimed at raising voting awareness for the upcoming Presidential Election. The virtual event will take place on Tuesday, October 13 at 5:00 p.m. PT and will be broadcast live on Twitch.tv/LAFC.
The Celebrity Showcase will be hosted by LAFC’s lead broadcaster, Max Bretos, and MLS Soccer host, Susannah Collins, and will feature various professional athletes, eMLS athletes and celebrities competing against each other in the newly released FIFA 21. Participants include LAFC’s eMLS athlete Martin “RemiMartinn” Oregel, US Women’s National Team Midfielder Allie Long, Columbia Records artist Cochise, DASH Radio’s DJ Skee, Comedians Erik Griffin and Ian Edwards, former NFL running back Shane Vereen, and more.
The Celebrity Showcase is yet another effort LAFC and Banc of California Stadium have put forth to raise voting awareness in addition to being involved in the newly launched Goldman Global Arts and When We All Vote digital art campaign and Rally the Vote campaign.
Additionally, Banc of California Stadium will serve as an L.A. County voting center for the Presidential General Election. County residents will have the opportunity to vote in-person or drop off Vote by Mail ballots for a five-day period between October 30 – November 3. Gamers.Vote is a nonpartisan, non-profit organization whose mission it is to empower gamers to rally the 130+ million potential voters to take part in election days. Additional partners include tournament producer Allied Esports, Columbia Records, ESTV, and Dash Radio.
