As 2016 draws to a close, we're looking back on a few of our most memorable moments in a historic year for our Club.


First Concrete Pour at Banc of California Stadium


12/8/16: LAFC entered a significant chapter in construction of its new soccer stadium this morning when the Club poured the first of its concrete slabs, building the foundation for the new Banc of California Stadium.


LAFC And Orange County Blues Partnership


12/7/16: LAFC and the orange County Blues announce a multi-year partnership that will expand player development and create a pipeline that will foster top-class players competing at both the MLS and USL levels.


Sports Arena Demolition


10/30/16: Demolition of the Sports Arena is completed.


Supporters Design Session


10/13/16: LAFC supporters join staff and representatives from Gensler for a Banc of California Stadium design session.


Black and Gold Rally


9/18/16: Hundreds of LAFC supporters come together at Boomtown Brewery for the first Black & Gold Rally.


LAFC Academy Debut


9/3/16: LAFC Academy's Under-12s make their US Soccer Development Academy debut against the Galaxy


LAFC, Galaxy meet for first time at academy level - who took the win?

Banc of California Stadium Groundbreaking


8/23/16: LAFC together with supporters, city and county leaders and representatives from Major League Soccer, break ground on a new 22,000-seat soccer-specific Banc of California Stadium.


Global Clubs Visit Los Angeles


7/25/16: Over the course of one week, LAFC welcomed five world-class football clubs - Paris Saint-Germain, Chelsea, Liverpool, Leicester City, and Arsenal - to Los Angeles.


Copa América Centenario


6/4/16: Los Angeles played host to three matches of the Copa America Centenario - a once-in-a-lifetime soccer summer event, honoring 100 years of the Copa America tournament - at the Rose Bowl. LAFC Original Members were given preferred access to purchase tickets in a special pre-sale.


Expo Line Extension First Ride


5/20/16: Supporters and staff celebrate the opening of the 6.6-mile Metro Expo Line extension that runs from Santa Monica to 7th Street to Metro Center in Downtown, and includes a stop at Expo Park, home of our future stadium.


LAFC Gains Approval For Stadium Construction


5/6/16: The Los Angeles City Council voted unanimously to allow LAFC to move forward with stadium plans after reviewing environmental impact reports.


LAFC Front Office Visits Club Tijuana


4/15/16: A total of 13 members of the Club's front office made the 140-mile drive to the Mexican border city on April 15 to see Club Tijuana take on Monterrey in a Liga MX match.

LAFC Academy's First Competitive Match


3/28/16: After gaining approval in December 2015, the LAFC U-12 boys academy team traveled to Dallas to compete in the Generation adidas Cup, the team's first competitive match.


Crest And Colors Reveal


1/7/16: Dozens of energized fans gathered at Union Station and joined Will Ferrell, Mia Hamm Garciaparra, Nomar Garciaparra, sports and entertainment legend Peter Guber, businessman Henry Nguyen, and other key club owners, elected officials and city leaders for the official unveiling of the new team's crest and colors.
