🏟: Toyota Stadium - Frisco, TX

After a 1-1 draw against Austin FC at BMO Stadium on Wednesday night, LAFC next heads to Frisco, Texas, to take on FC Dallas at Toyota Stadium this Saturday.

Wednesday’s draw dropped LAFC (14W-7L-7D) to third place in the Western Conference, with 49 points through 28 matches played. With a win in Dallas, the Black & Gold can clinch its third consecutive postseason appearance, though it won't be an easy task as LAFC has secured just one victory (1W-3L-1D) in five matches at Toyota Stadium. Its last victory at the venue came in 2021 - a 2-1 win.

This matchup marks the second and final meeting between LAFC and FC Dallas in 2024. The teams first faced off in June at BMO Stadium, where LAFC won 1-0. All time, LAFC holds a 6W-3L-2D record against Dallas.

FC Dallas In Depth:

Coached by interim head coach Peter Luccin, FC Dallas is aiming for a strong late-season push to climb above the playoff line and avoid missing the postseason after two consecutive appearances.

The team currently has a record of 9W-13L-7D and is in 11th place in the Western Conference, with 34 points from 29 matches played. Its most recent outing ended in a 3-2 loss to Real Salt Lake on Wednesday night at America First Field.

Leading the attack is Designated Player and Croatian international Petar Musa, who has scored 14 goals and provided two assists this season.

The Black & Gold Can Win If:

It finds a way to turn the page from its four-game winless run and perform during a crucial league road match. With another opportunity for silverware on the horizon next week (the U.S. Open Cup Final against SKC at BMO Stadium on Sept. 25), it’s crucial for the team to face forward and trust its own quality. Reinvigorating its attack will be key to bolstering the roster’s confidence heading into the MLS homestretch.

Los Toros Tejanos Can Win If:

They break free from recent struggles and rediscover some strong home-field form. Dallas has just one win in its last seven matches across all competitions, including its last two home games at Toyota Stadium. The team will rely on the skillset of Musa and potentially the increased involvement of forward Jesús Ferreira, who has scored just five league goals in 2024 after netting 12 in 2023.
