LAFC suffered its first home loss of 2026, falling 4-1 to the San Jose Earthquakes at BMO Stadium on Sunday evening. The loss, LAFC’s first at home in all competitions since August 31, 2025, snapped an 11-game home unbeaten streak and dropped the club’s regular-season record to 5W-2L-1D, for 16 points.

Following a scoreless first half, LAFC had a chance to get on the board first but Son Heung-Min's volley from the edge of the penalty area was saved by leaping San Jose goalkeeper Daniel (Daniel De Sousa Britto) in the 48th minute.

San Jose would immediately leap in front with three goals in a six-minute span from Ousseni Bouda, Timo Werner, and an LAFC own goal off the foot of Ryan Porteous to make the score 3-0. Bouda’s opener in the 53rd minute ended LAFC goalkeeper Hugo Lloris’ club-record streak of consecutive minutes without conceding a goal at 595 minutes. That streak stands as fourth-longest for a goalkeeper in league history.

LAFC pulled one back with an own goal by San Jose’s Reid Roberts in the 74th minute, but Bouda scored again in the 80th minute to seal the Quakes’ first road win against LAFC since 2020.

Next up for LAFC is another Western Conference home match on Wednesday, April 22, against the Colorado Rapids. Kickoff at BMO Stadium is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. PT. All MLS matches are broadcast live on Apple TV, with local radio coverage on ESPN LA 710 AM, the ESPN LA app, KFWB La Mera Mera 980 AM (Spanish), and K-Radio 1230 AM (Korean).
